Spring flingin'

Gorgeous Easter this year.  I feel like we've kind of moved outside for the last couple of months.

This girl is seriously the best and is growing like a weed.  She's making me have better posture because I'm always trying to stand taller next to her.

 Easter Egg hunting
Cracking confetti eggs on the twins heads
Such a bookworm!  Not happy unless she has several novels to choose from at all times.
For egg coloring this year we used shaving cream and food coloring and it made super cool tiedyed looking eggs.

Don't know why this is upside down, but the night before Easter  was warm enough to sleep out so Rivers and I camped on the trampoline.

Warren and Dre lookin cute at church, and a pic of the whole group at my Mom's after Easter dinner.   We had a candy and surprise hunt for the adults that included things like 1 night stay at the coast, or 1 night stay in the tree houses in Southern Oregon, etc.!!  Oh yeah!  We also played ultimate frisbee for prizes and I won for the girls so I got a gift certificate to Laughing Planet, which happens to be one of my favorite eateries.  I think this year was my favorite Easter since I was a kid!

Rivers often gets up on the fence when she comes home from school to take a minute and enjoy the view and fresh air and peacefulness....and that's another reason I love her.
Playing on the engine at Avery Park.

When it comes time to make dinner, the girls mysteriously disappear, but my boys insist on helping almost every single night.  My girls' husbands may not like it, but the girls my boys marry are going to love that their husbands have skills in the kitchen.  The other pic is an evening time tea party before bed.

My kids are not one bit afraid of picking up any kind of bug.  They have some fuzzy caterpillars with mohawks here, but they also love to carry around beetles (ewww) and Dreyton even snuck a little bug into church last week to play with.

Babies, babies, babies!  My kids got to meet their three new cousins all within a week of each other.  Diana and Jason had baby Decker in March and then we drove to Utah for Spring break and met Tanner and Alissa's new baby Swede, and Christina and Ben's new baby Lolo!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I took the kids to see the middle school production of "The Little Mermaid" and it was seriously incredible.  It was just like the movie and Ariel even sang as good as the movie!  My kids were mesmerized.

For Spring Break this year we drove to Utah to use our free skiing passes and see family.  I made little Swede this bonnet for her blessing (probably my favorite crochet project yet).
Road-trippin'.  The kids were all so good on the trip.
Funny picture of my mom, but it shows Swede in her cute blessing get-up.
Proud new Papa.  So glad I got to be there for the blessing day.  Loved hearing it!
Our first skiing day was at Park City Resort, which is huge, and we got to bring Sione with us, so he and Rivs are planning out our first route down the mountain.

Our next ski day was at Deer Valley, which is right at the top of my list for favorite ski destinations.  I loved the slightly old school feel of it and the Aspens on the other side of the mountain we got to ski through.  CD came with us for a few hours and started skiing by himself (without holding onto my pole).  It always took a long time to get down the mountains though because everytime he would crash, he would lay there and eat snow.  He must have been working hard though 'cause check out his sweaty mop after taking his pink helmet off.

I'm sure I've said this before, but I love having such a fun buddy to go adventuring with!!  This girl is so tough and fun!

Speaking of tough....check out 3 year old Dre riding the waves at Flowrider.
These two are such cute pals.  And it's so nice because I never have to break up fights or arguments with them!  Oh, and Reagan would not stop asking to get earrings in her ears, even after I kept explaining that it will hurt and a gun will punch holes in your ears.  So, on the way out of town we stopped and got it done.
Loved it when I found CD's tidy ensemble of soccer clothes set out in the kitchen the night before his game.
Track time!!  We have 40+ kids out for the team this year and it's really been a fun season coaching with Whitney and Diana.  Rivers discovered that her favorite event this year is the 400m and she's won every meet.  CD likes the 50m and looks all around the whole race to make sure he is beating someone.  He's happy when he just doesn't take last - he's 5 and in preschool racing against 2nd graders.

Rivers and Madison love 4H sewing and the style revue is their favorite because they get to design and sew their own outfits, then model them in a fashion show.  Cutie patooties.  They are getting good.
I keep finding Dre in places he shouldn't be climbing.
Cousins enjoying the 85 degree weather in early May.  Neither of these girls would ever wear clothes if we didn't make them.
Rivers in the 400m.
Sunday evenings at Oma's.
Speaking of Oma (or Old Bob as Cassidy says), I like this pic her and Cassidy.  Cassidy  is Oma's sidekick.
Hiking at Finley Wildlife Refuge.
Dreyton's smile is contagious.
CD plays soccer like a football player.  He's scored 2 goals the last 2 games and loves to "practice".  Since he's too young for practices, he goes with Rivers to her practices and tells me he's going to put his soccer stuff on everyday and practice.  He also loves to "practice" running and will often go out and run around the house 5 times, telling me he's practicing running.  He tries his hardest for the whole workout at track too and is sooo fun for me to watch.  (did I say 'practice' enough in this paragraph?)
Whit at her first show with her Deck Rd. Seeds business.  Her set-up looked so coolio.  Check out her website at http://www.deckerrdseeds.com/ and her blog at http://www.deckerrdseeds.com/blog/

Reagan's awesome get-up that she wore to track practice because I didn't realize this is what she had on and we didn't have time to change.  The pic doesn't show it, but she has a cape on too.  I love that she put the cinderella princess sleeves on her knees for knee pads and has the mask on inside out.
This kid is the coolest.  He's so rough and tough, but then has this super gentle side that loves to garden, and pick flowers and cook and help me.  He went out and picked this bouquet from our yard then asked if we could go to the cemetery and give it to Opa.
