Gosh, I'm bad at keeping up on this blogging stuff. Here are a few pics from spring. This is Rivers in her easter dress she picked out the fabric and pattern for.

Rivers' cousin Sione gets baptized and he's part Tongan, so it included a huge Tongan feast, dance performances from different islands, a DJ and dancing. Here is Rivers performing the Hawaiian dance - she got to be Polynesian for a night.

We just got back from 2 great weeks in Oregon, but I don't have my pictures from that trip yet, so here are some older pics and videos.

We were in Provo a few times working on our townhome for the new renters and I took the kids on a hike to the Y on the mountain. We didn't quite make it to the Y but Rivers loved sliding down the trail on the snow and said she wished she could take a hike like that every day.

At a field trip with Rivers. We went to the capital theatre and watched a modern dance performance with her class. It was the most abstract thing I've ever seen and held my attention for about 5 minutes.

For my birthday Tanner cleverly brought me a pineapple with candles instead of a cake.

This first video was from last summer - you can tell Rivers and Madison are half Bushnell because instead of sand castles, they each drew a track with lanes and raced around it. The second video shows my graceful son eating his oatmeal.

Why does Dwight like little places?

OK, these first two pictures are from 2 weekends ago when Tanner and I went skate skiing. This is a golf course on the way to Park City that they turn into a skate ski course during the winter. I still don't understand how people can look effortless doing this sport. Here is Tanner trying his best to look cool in tights.

This is me before we started, looking nice and fresh. By the end I had worked up such a sweat that I shed my ski pants and had little cropped tights on that were not supposed to be seen. This last week I took Rivers up to Alta for some downhill skiing - always entertaining with a 6 year old! At least we made it safely on and off the lifts.

And here start the pictures of my weird son. I started noticing how many pictures I have of him from this year inside odd things. Here he tipped over the hamper and made himself cozy.

This one scares me because he loves playing in the oven - at least he has a mitt on. I didn't get a picture when he was in the dryer because it scared me too much.

One of his favorite places - at least the clothes are clean.

If I ever leave the dishwasher open, it is like a magnet for him. Seriously, I can't keep him out of it.

This is Rivers' little American Girl desk that is also a magnet for Dwight. I think it looks so funny when he sits in it - especially naked.

And his latest trick is pouring out the entire box or bag of chips, cereal, crackers or whatever. But I can't get mad when he has that proud look on his face like he just did something great. He's so much more mischievious than Rivers was - writing on the walls, dumping things out, filling the toilet with Q-tips, unrolling the whole roll of toilet paper etc. etc. He does all the things you hear that toddlers do, but our little angel Rivers never did. He's so much fun though and just laughs at everything.

December stuff

Whitney, Cody, and Tyler came to Park City a couple weeks before Christmas, so we got to hang out with them. Here they are at Whitney's inlaw's condo in Park City.

Another pic of Whit and the kids - they kind of got snowed in at our house for a couple of days (which we were happy about).

Bonnie, my Dad's little sister came with her family to stay in their house in Park City, so we got to spend an evening with them. It was a really great (and delicious) night. We don't get to see them very often. Their house has a bunk room for the kids that we all loved.

Tyler got to come to Rivers' Christmas program and she got to show him her school room.

This is how we go to church sometimes - pulling D in the little sled. He loves it and grabs snow the whole way and eats it.

This is the best nativity ever - everything is live, including the camel in the background of this picture. You go through a big entrance where everyone is dressed and pretending to speak Hebrew, then you go to a little village where you get hot chocolate and see the camel and then you keep walking along a trail to the stable scene complete with all the animals and a real baby (luckily they had heat lamps because it was FREEZING this night).

We braved the roads and weather and drove to Oregon for Christmas. We finally made it there on Christmas Eve. We didn't think we were going to make the trip this year, but Rivers was so nice in her incessant pleading to go to Oregon for Christmas that Carlos was able to make the trip happen. This is a picture of the road going over the Santiam Pass.

#1 on Rivers Christmas list this year was a robe! Here we are in our matching blue robes on Christmas morning at the Bushnell house.In front of the mammoth christmas tree we searched forever for on our friend's mountain.

Tyler always gets turned into the playground. Here he is with 4 kids on him.

Rivers and Madison spent hours out in the barn in the loft at my Mom's house. Here they are with make shift lassos. It's funny to secretly listen to them when they are pretending. They have some good imaginations.

At Whitney's house on New Year's - Rivers turned into a snowman when we turned the jets on with bubble bath.

Rivers got to try out her new bike (my old banana seat bike from when I was her age, nicely refurbished by Tanner) while I ran around sugarhouse park on a very chilly day.
Needless to say, we were the only ones at the park this day.

Rivers looking like quite the Diva after a friend's birthday party that included make-overs at a beauty school. You can't see in these pictures how much glitter she has in her hair, but it's been weeks and I'm still finding it places.
